Kukurantumi – Thursday, July 9, 2020: The Abuakwa North Municipal Assembly has held its first ordinary meeting of the second General Assembly at Kukurantumi. Speaking at the first session, the Presiding Member, Hon. Emmanuel Asare Gyekye, thanked the previous General Assembly for doing their best to uplift the image of the august house. He stated that the current crop of Assembly Members would continue to work assiduously to improve upon the solid foundation laid by the pioneer Assembly Members.
In his sessional address, the Municipal Chief Executive, Hon. Owusu Twum-Ampofo, outlined some projects and programmes that had been initiated within the 2020 Annual Action Plan and Budget including roads, markets, educational and health infrastructure. He however mentioned COVID-19 as the Assembly’s major challenge to the achievement of its 2020 objectives.
Also present at the meeting were the Member of Parliament for the Constituency, Hon. Gifty Twum-Ampofo, the Municipal Co-ordinating Director, Mr. Jeremiah Agyekum Amoafo, Hon. Assembly Members, HoDs, Traditional Authorities and the Press. The meeting took place at the newly refurbished Assembly Hall at Kukurantumi.
